Disney CEO Bob Iger Rips Ron DeSantis Over ‘Anti-Florida' Retaliation
The Governor of Florida wants the state's inspector general to investigate actions taken by a board backed by Disney to keep control of the Reedy Creek district.

Bob Iger called Monday the Florida Governor Monday's shareholder meeting saw Disney CEO Iger address investor questions about the ongoing dispute between Disney and Florida legislators. Iger stated that the company had taken a position one year ago on pending Florida legislation. This was apparently referring to the bill critics have called "Don't Say Gay". He said: "The governor became very angry about Disney's position and seems to have decided to retaliate, including the naming a new board that will oversee the property. To punish a company that has exercised a constitutional right. He stated, "Our point is that any action to support those efforts in retaliation for a company's position sounds not only anti-business but also anti-Florida." On February 8, DeSantis was elected to the Florida House. The agreement was signed the day before. DeSantis replaced all the Disney-allied board members on February 27 with five Republicans. It dates back to 1692 in Britain. It is widely believed that DeSantis is preparing for a presidential campaign in 2024. This move is expected to occur shortly after the Florida legislative session closes in May. After Disney publicly criticized Florida's HB1557 law, the governor of Florida took aim at Disney. There is no sign of a slowing down in the fight between DeSantis & Disney. DeSantis said to attendees last week that he hadn't seen anything yet during a Georgia book tour stop.
